Who?

Nathalie is an Edinburgh based Swedish-Azari Iranian screenwriter, script consultant and editor. She holds an MA degree in Screenwriting, and have completed several shorts courses in Script Editing, including John Yorke’s Script Editing & Development BECTU course, and NFTS’s Script Reading & Reporting. She’s bilingual and works both in English and Swedish.

Nathalie’s a BAFTA Connect member, an alumnus if EIFF’s Talent Lab and their feature lab talent programme Script Starter, was selected for GFF’s New Talent Mentorship programme 2022, and took part in the Less is More Scottish residency 2023.

Her own writing has been recognised by opportunities such as BBC Writersroom, ScreenCraft Comedy Script Competition, and A Thousand Stories Script Competition. She’s developed a feature film script through BFI/Short Circuit’s talent programme First Features, and was last year shortlisted for the BFI funded short-film scheme Sharp Shorts, and a finalist in the Shore Script Short Film Fund.

Since graduating in 2019, Nathalie has worked in the UK TV industry. Her expertise lies in script and story development, and she’s worked as a researcher and storyliner on BBC’s continuing drama River City, was part of the script team of the second series of Amazon UK’s series The Rig, and is currently the Script Editor on season 10 of the Scottish Crime series Shetland.
